Competitive socialising sector to get three more UK venues this summer

“It’s not about the game, it’s about the experience,” says The Social Gaming Group’s CEO Troy Warfield.

He should know. He’s an expert in bringing leading-edge gamification technology to the hospitality industry. And he’s the brains behind the ‘gastro-gaming’ Oche brand, combining digital darts with a more discerning food and beverage experience than you’d expect in similar venues.

Oche is already highly successful in Australia, The Netherlands, Norway and Sweden. Warfield hopes it’s bullseye-hitting run will continue on The Strand in London next month.

In addition, expect to see brand new Birdies golf lounges at Battersea Power Station in July and Leeds in the autumn.

Gamified events are phenomenal options if you’re always looking for something different for your –

  • Conference social programmes
  • Team building events
  • Staff incentives
  • Christmas parties

And they’ve come a long, long way since the likes of quiz nights, cocktail masterclasses, whisky tasting and mock casino experiences first got our competitive juices pumping. (Although these activities STILL hold their own year in and year out.)

But now, you’re spoilt for choice. Venues like Escape Rooms, Whistle Punks Urban Axe Throwing, Point Blank Shooting and Crystal Maze are exceeding organiser’s expectations. Many of them offer an impressive range of tailormade corporate packages, for smaller groups up to exclusive venue hire.

Here at MICE Concierge, it’s our job to stay ahead of the game on your behalf when it comes to venues of all sorts, shapes and sizes. So, if you’re stuck for inspiration, fear not! We’re overflowing with it! Drop us a line. We’d love to help.
