IACC research highlights post-Covid priorities for event planners
According to recent ‘Meeting Room of the Future’ research by the International Association of Conference Centres (IACC), experience is king for post-pandemic event planners. In fact, an overwhelming 80% of event professionals agree that what worked until March 2020 isn’t meeting the appetites of conference delegates and visitors circa 2023.
So, what’s floating people’s boats in this year’s eventscape?
IACC CEO Mark Cooper put it plainly to Catie Owen at Conference News: “Planners must take a step back and ask themselves whether it (the event) can be done over Zoom. If so, it clearly has no place in the room.”
In short, an overdose of Zoom fatigue and working from home has intensified the need for added value by the barrowful at live events.
For this purpose:
- 41% of event planners are looking for larger spaces in order to facilitate more interactive sessions, plus fun activities and elements of entertainment
In addition, there’s also more onus on leveraging the latest event technology for greater connectivity and networking opportunities before, during and after event, besides an enhanced online experience.
