UK’s first art’otel to open at Battersea Power Station

Fancy upping the aesthetic of your next meeting or event? Battersea Power Station could have the ideal solution when it welcomes the UK’s first art’otel in September 2022.

“What is an art hotel?” you might be asking. Well, if you’ve seen Nextflix’ recent blockbuster ‘Inventing Anna’, you’ve already had a flavour. (If you know, you know.)

Uniq Hotels explains, “You come for the accommodations and stay for the artwork exhibits — or is it the other way around? Art hotels add cutting-edge modern art exhibits to their décor, such as paintings, sculptures, displays, hanging figures, and architectural anomalies.”

This cerebral 164-bedroom hotel concept is brought to Battersea Power Station by PPHE Hotel Group, whose Park Plaza brand you might already be familiar with.

The hotel’s creative partner, Spanish artist and designer Jaime Hayon, speaks passionately about “a unique prospect to explore the interaction between art, product and interior design…”

The art’otel will be a focal point of Battersea Power Station’s ‘Electric Boulevard’ pedestrianised area for modern living, working and socialising. In addition to inventive and original bedroom accommodation, it will also offer –

·        Art gallery

·        Event spaces

·        Gym

·        Rooftop restaurant and bar

·        Spa

·        Swimming pool
